Plant Sale at the Farm on Saturday, 6/13 The Community Greenhouse Project at Waverley Place will be selling herb and vegetable seedlings, as well as annual and perennial flowers on Saturday, June 13th, from 8am-12pm. The sale will be located next to our CSA distribution shed. The Community Greenhouse Project is a program of McLean Hospital, offering vocational training and employment to adults with chronic psychiatric illnesses. The plants are grown by project members in their greenhouse next to ours at the UMass Field Station.

Second Chances Clothing Drive, 6/20-6/27 WFCF is sponsoring a clothing drive at the farm for Second Chances, a non-profit whose mission is to provide clothing to people in need, inform supporters about issues affecting our community and help people connect with local organizations or issues that resonate with their values, skills and personal experiences. Lend your support by dropping off your used clothing and footwear anytime between Saturday, June 20th and Saturday, June 27th. Learn more about Second Chances at www.secondchances.org

Digging In The Dirt Family Program, July 10th and 17th This is the first in a series of programs that we will be offering at Waltham Fields Community Farm this summer for children ages 0-4 and their caregivers. We will be offering 2 programs for each of the following: Waltham residents, farm members, and urban groups so keep an eye out for the programs that apply to you!

Friday, July 10th: For Waltham Residents
Friday, July 17th: For Urban Groups (this includes Cambridge, Somerville, Boston, and other towns around Waltham).
The focus of both dates will be soil: what lives in it, what it is made of, and how we use it here on the farm! Activities will include worm exploration, spreading compost, hunting for insects, and much more. $10/Adult w/1 child, $2/additional child

Recurring Events

Waltham Fields Community Farm Board Meetings - Board of Director meetings are held the 2nd Tuesday of each month. They are open to Waltham Fields Community Farm members and the public. Board meetings generally begin at 7:30 pm and are held in meeting room on the top floor of the Field Station.
