Enjoy a cozy afternoon on the farm and gather with your community to sip hot chocolate and warm herb teas while learning to weave, twist, and tie natural farm items like pine cones, holly, and branches of evergreen into a festive delight for your home celebrations this holiday season.
Using natural or reusable wire wreath forms, participants will design and create their own natural wreaths to display indoors or outdoors at home.
Interdisciplinary artist and WFCF Director of Education & Community Programs, Jessica Herwick, along with Amanda Smith, Textiles artist and WFCF Supervisory Educator, will share the vast history of wreaths across cultures, cool facts about the natural materials collected from the farm, and assist participants in making a unique design incorporating the gifts nature provides to bring joy during the dark months of winter.
Participants are welcome to clip select evergreens from the woodland border along the farm and add to provided greens. Limited hand tools provided. BYO hand gloves, tools, and gathering bags.
All materials provided to create our designs are 100% compostable and/or 100% reusable.
All levels of experience are welcome! This workshop offers instruction for all levels of nature crafters.
